Today I was ready for the first soundcheck. Listen to a simple rhythm with the snare and framedrum. I will experiment with damping to get the right sound from the framedrum. Actually I used a towel.
Hello Dirk. I just ordered the Meinl PM-1 and Frame Drum Holder. Thank you for your suggestions. I will use a 16" Irish bodhran that I built to fit a Remo Fiberskyn floor tom head. My snare drum stand tilts far enough to let me hit it with a drum pedal. Now, I am wondering what you used to hold your cymbals. Would you please enlighten me? Thank you!
Hello, thank you for your interest. I will soon post something about the cymbal-set-up. The hardware I used for the cymbals is also the Meinl PM-1. I connected a Tama Cymbal holder: http://www.thomann.de/gb/tama_csa35nbecken_stacker.htm A more elegant solution is to connect a cymbal holder to my preferred DW Lifter, which I used for the snare, because then you don't need another PM-1
